Jesus' Birthday for the Next Three Years

Tis the season to be Mullen and proudly post to this long-forsaken blog.  There are two things that all of us authorized authors share (even with spouses and children): 1) our last name and 2) the inability to publish anything here except for around Christmastime.    Well I'm taking my seasonal inspiration to generate some family discussion and provide an easily accessible alternative to an attachment on an e-mail that might otherwise be deleted, forgotten or unread.  I think Dad once told me that the name Mullen is Gaelic for "son of the bald man" but seeing as how he's not bald and that doesn't apply to us, I'd like to hear what Mullen means to everyone else.  Hopefully it doesn't just bring to mind San Diego news anchors or former Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or on a more intimate level, pickles and minimal phone calls.  What does it mean to BE a Mullen?  Then there's this calendar for gift-giving rotation (which is merely a suggestion and open to revision).  I thought about referring to couples like Bonathon, Paulissa and Michmer but changed my mind at the last minute, which incidentally is a timeframe that I don't recommend for mailing cards or gifts.

2012
oldest sibling's family gives to middlest sibling's family
middlest gives to youngest
youngest gives to oldest

2013
oldest - youngest
middlest - oldest
youngest - middlest

2014
oldest - middlest
middlest - youngest
younest - oldest

In other words, on even years Paul's does Jonathan's, Jonathan's does Michael's and Michael's does Paul's.  On odd years Paul's does Michael's, Jonathon's does Paul's and Michael's does Jonathon's.  Feel free to leave comments with recipes and/or wishlists.

Drawing a Giraffe

Keenan's favorite animal is a giraffe. Here he is drawing a pink one, enhanced by Miriya's sound effects.
